Distribution. Nearctic, transcontinental in Canada, reported from A/S ( Klimaszewski et al. 2021). Canada: AB, BC, LB, NB, NF, NS, ON, QC, SK, YT. USA: AK, ME (NSR), NH (NSR), NY, VT.
Collection and Habitat data. NH adults were collected from May to November. Found in Russula and other mushrooms, by sifting various leaf deciduous leaf litters, often by water, and taken by FIT at several sites. In AK specimens were captured at a field/forest edge, and in a wide variety of mesic forest leaf litters (coniferous and deciduous) as well as shrublands with Nephrophyllidium crista-galli (Menz. Ex Hook) Gilg , Elliottia pyrolifora (Bong.) S.W. Brim & P.F. Stevens , Luetkea pectinata (Pursh) Kuntze ; willow, dwarf birch, shrub; and from tundra/ maritime tundra with Leymus and Heracleum . In Canada found in conifer dominated forests, as well as northern hardwood and mixed forests. Common in decaying mushrooms and Russula sp. (gilled mushroom), but also were found in deer dung, carrion, and compost ( Klimaszewski et al. 2021).
