Distribution. Nearctic, distributed in eastern North America. Canada: NB, ON. USA: AR, IL, KY, MA (NSR), MO, NH (NSR), TN, VA.

Collection and Habitat data. The NH specimens were captured from May to July by flight intercept/window traps. In Canada adults of this species were found in soil and litter in and near entrances to burrows of Marmota monax (L.) in meadows, hayfields, forest margins, and in a rich Appalachian hardwood forest with some conifers near a meadow ( Klimaszewski et al. 2017a).

Comments. Only examined specimens or verified records are included in this account because this species is extremely similar to A. castaneipennis Mannerheim and was mixed with the latter before publication of Klimaszewski et al. 2017a.
