Discussion. Thomson (1857) did not mention similar genera when established Hechinoschema . Hechinoschema is similar to Paroriaethus Breuning, 1936 by the prothorax with lateral spines and elytra covered with many spinous tubercles. However, Hechinoschema can be distinguished from Paroriaethus by the wider prothorax, wider elytral base, dorsum not strongly raised and hind wings developed.

Range. Bangladesh, India.

Remarks. Thomson (1864) used Echinoschema to refer to Hechinoschema , probably as a spelling mistake. Echinoschema is not an available name, but incorrect subsequent spelling of Hechinoschema based on Art. 33.3 of ICZN ( ICZN 1999).
