Comments. A new record for Russia.
Coenosia penicillata Hennig, 1961 was known only from Japan, and has now been found in the south of European Russia, and also in Turkey (N. Vikhrev pers. comm.). The presence of this species in the Far East of Russia is highly probable.
The terminalia of the Russian specimen of Coenosia penicillata are somewhat different from the terminalia of the Japanese specimens, but these differences are only according to the images made by S. Shinonaga ( Figs 6 A–E View FIGURE 6 ).
The species is well defined by the short lower calypter, entirely black body and long hairy legs ( Fig. 7 C View FIGURE 7 ).
