Boliviela biungulata View in CoL , sp. nov.

(Plate ID, Figs. 25–32)

Length. Male 9.00–9.50 mm., female unknown.

External morphology. Large, robust species. General color dark brown with yellow markings on crown, pronotum and veins of forewings (Plate ID). Head significantly narrower than pronotum, anterior margin obtusely angulate; crown broad, wider than width of eyes, produced distally to about ¼ of entire median length, lateral margins distinctly carinate, disk depressed; eyes large, elongate ovoid; pronotum with median length about ¼ times longer than crown; mesonotum with median length about equal to length of pronotum; forewings typical; clypeus long, broad, lateral margins broadly convex, slightly depressed in apical ½, inflated in basal ½; clypellus short, about 1/3 as long as clypeus, broad and inflated basally, lateral margins constricted medially.

Male genitalia. Pygofer narrow with 2 prominent caudal processes, caudodorsal process moderately long, curved robust, caudoventral process very long, exceeding apex of caudodorsal lobe, broad in basal 1/3, attenuated in distal 2/3 ( Fig. 25); right subgenital plate long, narrow, lateral margins expanded along distal 4/6–5/6, profusely setose in distal half ( Fig. 26); right style long, narrowed along middle, expanded in distal 2/5 ( Figs. 27, 28); aedeagus long, somewhat expanded medially in lateral view, apex recurved, digitate apically ( Fig. 29), in ventral view with large flange, latero-apical, sharply pointed processes directed distally ( Fig. 30); connective small, Y-shaped, stem short ( Fig. 31); dorsal connective long, narrow, shallow bifurcation basally ( Fig. 32), attached subbasally to aedeagal shaft, not encircling shaft (29).

Material examined. Holotype male. PERU: Huanuco, Vic. [vicinity] Tingo Maria , 1–5 June 1999, W. Hansen, S. Kellar ( NMNH) . Paratypes. Two males, same data as holotype ( USU, MLBM) .

Etymology. The name is descriptive for 2 long lateral processes on the middle of the aedeagal shaft.

Remarks. From B. angustiformis (Linnavuori) to which it is most similar, B. biungulata , sp. nov. can be distinguished by the narrower aedeagal shaft in dorsal view, the configuration of the medial, aedeagal processes and configuration of the dorsal connective attachment to the aedeagus.
