Diagnosis. At present, defined only on the basis of characters that are symplesiomorphic with respect to Chimeromyia: Arista terminal, with 3 aristomeres; wing with crossveins r-m and bm-cu separated by distance approximately equal to length of r-m; cell dm present, large, with crossvein dm-cu; vein CuA2, cell cu p and A1[+ CuA2?] present; anal lobe and alula present.
Type Species. Chimeromyina concilia , n.sp.
Etymology. Derived from the name of the sister genus, Chimeromyia.
