Remarks: At least some of the older records of the species from Nearctic regions are likely erroneous and belonging to other blind species. Nevertheless, F. fimetaria auct. appears to exist in Canada and is represented, for instance, in the vicinity of Churchill, MB, by two cryptic genetic lines, L1 and L2 ( Porco et al. 2014).
