Suncus fellowesgordoni Phillips 1932 View in CoL , Spolia Zeylan., 17: 124.
Type Locality: Sri Lanka, Central Province, Ohiya, West Haputale Estate (6,000 ft. = 1829 m).
Vernacular Names: Sri Lankan Shrew.
Distribution: C highlands of Sri Lanka.
Conservation: IUCN – Endangered.
Discussion: Although usually included in S. etruscus , this taxon represents a species endemic to Sri Lanka (see also Jenkins et al., 1998). Podihik kura Deraniyagala, 1958 , which was included in this species by Phillips (1980), does not represent fellowesgordoni , but is more similar to etruscus and included therein.
