Distribution: NW Madagascar, from Ambato-Boéni region to Antsohihy.
Conservation: CITES – Appendix I; U.S. ESA – Endangered; IUCN – Endangered as P. verreauxi coquereli .
Discussion: Recognized as a full species by Groves (2001 c).
