Material examined. Kenya, 2 females, Mombasa, July 18, 2005 ; 1 female, Mukaka forest, Kwale, Coast Province , July 26, 2005 ; 1 female, Nyahururu ( Thompson Falls ), altitude 2500 m, May 6, 2006 ; 11 females, Kakamega rain forest, altitude 1616 m, July 24, 2006 ; 4 females, Mfangano Island, Nyanza Province , altitude 1300 m, December 10, 2005 ( El-Banhawy ) .
Female: Dorsal shield smooth, 310 long, 210 wide, with five pairs of pores. Measurements of dorsal setae, j1 27, j3 16, j4, j5, j6 10, J2 12, J5 7, z2 12, z4 14, z5 10, Z1 12, Z4 13, Z5 55, s4 25, S2, S4 14, S5 12, r3 17, R1 10, JV5 40. Setae Z 5 slightly serrated, remaining setae smooth. Peritrematal shield fused anteriorly with dorsal shield, reaching level of j1. Sternal shield smooth, distances between St I-St III 60 , St II-St II 70 , St IV on platelets. Genital shield 80 wide. Ventri-anal shield 92 long, 60 wide, with a pair of crescentic pre-anal pores and three pairs of preanal setae (JV1, JV2, ZV2). Two pairs of metapodal platelets, two pairs of sigillar sclerites and four pairs of setae surrounding ventri-anal shield. Fixed digit of chelicera with four small teeth clustered distally, movable digit with two teeth. Spermatheca calyx tubular, 18 long, 7 wide, near atrium, 3 wide near vesicle, atrium conspicuous. Macrosetae, Sge II 32 , Sge III 37 , Sge IV 60 , Sti IV 38 , St IV 70 . Chaetotaxy : genu II 2 , 2 / 0, 2/0, 1, genu III 1 , 2 /1, 2/0, 1.
Remarks. The female holotype and male paratype were collected from Stanleyville, DRC, April 29, 1955, E. W. Baker ( Pritchard & Baker, 1962). This species has also been recorded from Benin, Burundi, Cameroon, Ghana, Kenya, Sierra Leone, Uganda ( Moraes et al., 2001).
