Material examined. Kenya, 1 female, Lamu Island , July 19, 2005 ; 1 female, Pate Island , July 20, 2005 ; 1 female, Manda Island, Coast Province , July 21, 2005 ; 12 females, coffee, Nyeri, Central Province , altitude 1720 m, June 2006 ( El-Banhawy ) .
Female: Dorsal shield smooth, with anterior striations, 320 long, 214 wide, with six pairs of pores. Measurements of dorsal setae: j1 32, j3 30, j4, j5 20, j6, J2 22, J5 5, z2 24, z4 46, z5 23, Z1 24, Z4 24, Z5 40, s4 40, S2 30, S4, S5 21, r3 24, R1 26, JV5 62. Seta Z 5 prominent, remaining setae setiform. Peritrematal shield fused anteriorly with dorsal shield, reaching level between j1-j3. Sternal shield smooth, with posterior lobe, distances between St I- St III 60 , St II-St II 64 , St IV on platelets. Genital shield 78 wide. Ventri-anal shield 105 long, 62 wide, with a pair of elliptical pre-anal pores posterior to JV2 and three pairs of pre-anal setae (JV1, JV2, ZV2). Two pairs of metapodal platelets, two pairs of sigillar sclerites and four pairs of setae surrounding ventri-anal shield. Fixed digit of chelicera with eight teeth, movable digit with three teeth. Spermatheca calyx 47 long, anteriorly enlarged, 10 long, with posterior filament branched distally, 37 long, atrium broadly jointed major duct. Macrosetae sharp on Sge II 32 , blunt on Sge III 39 , Sti III 25 , Sge IV 50 , Sti IV 32 ; 28, St IV 60 . Chaetotaxy: genu II 2 , 2 / 0, 2/0, 1, genu III 1 , 2 /1, 2/0, 1.
Remarks. The female holotype was collected from Munster, Natal, South Africa, 1965 ( Van der Merwe, 1965). The male paratype was collected from South Africa ( Ueckermann & Loots, 1988). This species was also recorded from Burundi, Cameroon, DRC, Ghana, Mozambique, Nigeria, Rwanda, Sierra Leone, Uganda, Zimbabwe ( Moraes et al., 2006).
