Material examined. Kenya, 1 female, Mt. Elgon National Park, Bamboo zone, altitude 2626 m, March 2005 (El- Banhawy) ; 1 female, coffee farm, Taita Hills, Coast Province , altitude 1622 m, Nov. 2005 (H. Mugo) .
Female: Dorsal shield smooth, 325 long, 220 wide, with eight pairs of pores. Measurements of dorsal setae: j1 28, j3 23, j4 14, j5 16, j6 12, J2 16, J5 5, z2 20, z4 23, z5 14, Z1 18, Z4 20, Z5 30, s4 26, S2 18, S4, S5 14, r3, R1 18, JV5 58. All dorsal and ventral setae smooth. Peritrematal shield fused anteriorly with dorsal shield, reaching level of z2. Sternal shield smooth, distances between St I-St III 58 , St II-St II 60 , St IV on platelets. Genital shield 80 wide. Ventri-anal shield 105 long, 62 wide, with a pair of crescentic pre-anal pores and three pairs of pre-anal setae (JV1, JV2, ZV2). Two pairs of metapodal platelets, two pairs of sigillar sclerites, and four pairs of setae surrounding ventri-anal shield. Fixed digit of chelicera with three small teeth clustered distally, movable digit with two teeth. Spermatheca calyx anteriorly enlarged, posteriorly filamentous distally, 35 long, atrium inconspicuous. Macrosetae, SgeII 25, Sge III 30 , Sti III 25 , Sge IV 46 , Sti IV 39 , St IV 60 . Chaetotaxy: genu II 2 , 2 / 0, 2/0, 1, genu II 1 , 2 /1, 2/0, 1.
Remarks. The female holotype and male paratype were collected from Loteni Nature Reserve (Natal) South Africa, December 26, 1978, E. Van den Berg ( Ueckermann & Loots, 1988). It has also been recorded from Cameroon and Rwanda Moraes et al., 2001).
