Material examined. Kenya, 1 female, Thompson Falls (Nyahururu), altitude 2500 m, May 6, 2006 ; 2 females, Wyaundo Island , altitude 1310 m, December 7, 2005 ; 4 females, Ruma National Park , altitude 1349 m, December, 2005 ; 1 female, Rusinga Island , altitude 1400 m, December 11, 2005 ; 2 females, Ndere Island , altitude 1288, Nyanza Province December 12, 2005 ( El-Banhawy ) .
Female: Dorsal shield imbricate, 300 long, 152 wide, with eight pairs of pores. Measurements of dorsal setae: j1 18, j3 19, j4 12, j5 14, j6 17, J2 22, J5 7, z2 14, z3 16, z4 17, z5 16, Z4 25, Z5 44, s4 23, s6 22, S2 25, S4 23, S5 16, r3, R1 18, JV5 30. Setae Z 4, Z5 serrated, Z5 pointed distally, remaining setae smooth. Peritrematal shield fused anteriorly with dorsal shield, reaching level of j1. Sternal shield straight posteriorly, distances between St I-St III 58 , St II-St II 52 , St III off shield, St IV on platelets. Genital shield 50 wide. Ventri-anal shield 92 long, 58 wide, lateral margins concave, with a pair of large elliptical pre-anal pores close to each other, and four pairs of pre-anal setae (JV1, JV2, JV3, ZV2). Two pairs of metapodal platelets, two pairs of sigillar sclerites and four pairs of setae surrounding ventri-anal shield. Fixed digit of chelicera with three teeth, movable digit with three teeth. Spermatheca calyx bell-shaped, 12 long 7 wide, atrium small. Macroseta knobbed distally, St IV 32 . Chaetotaxy : genu II 2 , 2 / 0, 2/0, 1, genu III 1 , 2 /1, 2/0, 1.
Remarks. The female holotype was collected from Libanon Forestry, Western Cape Province, South Africa, March 9, 1983, Cruickshank ( Ueckermann & Loots, 1988). The male is unknown. Unlike the holotype, the sternal shield in the Kenyan specimens is straight and seta Z5 pointed rather than knobbed.
