Dignosis. The species in this subgenus are characterised by the presence of seta S5. There are two dorsal setal patterns: 12A: 8A and 12A: 7B. There are three female caudoventral patterns: JV: ZV; JV3: ZV and JV4: ZV.Setae z3, s6, J2, S2, S5, R1, JV2 and ZV3 present; setae z6, J1, Z1, and Z3 absent, seta S4 absent on one species, present in all others; seta JV4 absent in one species, present in all others. There is considerable variation in other major characters ( Chant & Mcmurtry, 1994).
