Material examined. Kenya, 1 female, Mt . Kenya, saliant main road, altitude 2000m, July 13, 2004 (El-Banhawy); 2 females, Lamu tripat beach resort , Mombasa, July 18, 2005 (El-Banhawy); 2 females, Pate Island, Coast province , July 20, 2005 (El-Banhawy) .
Female: Dorsal shield rotund, 328 long, 207 wide (L/W ratio 1.4: 1), coarsely imbricate, rounded posteriorly, without lateral incisions. Measurements of dorsal setae: j1 28, j3 18, j4, j5 7, j6 28, J5 5, z2 32, z4 35, z5 7, Z1 25, Z4 52, Z5 55, s4 39, S2 38, r 3 22, R113, JV5 16. Seta R 1 on dorsal shield, Setae j3, j4, j5, z5 minute, J5 peg like, remaining setae subequal, strongly serrated and flattened. Peritrematal shield fused anteriorly with dorsal shield, reaching level of j1. Sternal shield smooth, distances between St I-St III 60 , St II-St II 60 , St IV on small platelets. Genital shield 74 wide. Ventri-anal shield smooth, 104 long, 74 wide, with a pair of tiny pre-anal pores near margin at level of anus and three pre-anal setae (JV1, JV2, ZV2). Two pairs of metapodal platelets, two pairs of sigillar sclerites and three pairs of setae surrounding ventri-anal shield. Fixed digit of chelicera with 2–3 small teeth, movable digit without teeth. Spermatheca simple, calyx dish shaped, atrium nodular. Macrosetae, Sge IV 16 , St IV 35 . Chaetotaxy: genu II. 2, 2/0, 2/0, 1, genu III 1 , 2 /1, 2/0, 1.
Remarks. The female holotype was collected from cut flowers imported into the USA, Boston Massachusetts, from South Africa (Chant, 1957). The male is unknown.
