Figure 3 View FIGURE 3 ; Map 2
Male. Body small. Fastiguim verticis conical, apex obtusely rounded, furrowed in middle. Eyes subglobular, projecting outwards.
Anterior margin of pronotum slightly prominent, posterior margin arch-shaped, medial carina indistinct; lateral lobes longer than high, humeral sinus absent.
All femora unarmed. Procoxae with 1 short spine; protibiae with 4 pairs of spines and a pair of spurs on ventral margin; tibial tympana open on internal and external sides, oval. Mesotibiae with 3 inner spines and 5 outer spines on ventral margin and 1 pair of ventral apical spurs. Genicular lobes of postfemora with apices obtuse; posttibiae with 23 inner spines and 24 outer spines on dorsal margin, apex with 1 pair of dorsal spurs and 2 pairs of ventral spurs.
Tegmina short, concealed beneath pronotum, reaching the middle area of second abdominal tergite. Hind wings absent.
Posterior margin of tenth abdominal tergite slightly protruding backwards, with shallow concavity in middle. Basal area of male cerci with 1 digitiform lobe on interno-dorsal margin, the apical half pointed dorsad; ventral margin with semicircular lobe; apical half spine-shaped, incurved, apex subacute. Basal area of subgenital plate comparatively broad, basal margin arch-shaped, excavate in middle; lateral margins bent dorsad; apical half projecting backwards, lateral margins of subapical area obviously becoming narrower, posterior margin somewhat truncate, the lateral lobe triangular. Styli obviously longer than other species, conical, apex obtuse, inserted on 2/3 of ventral margin of subgenital plate.
Female. Unknown.
Coloration. Body yellowish-brown. Eyes brown. Internal margin of antennal socket, scape and pedicel light black. Dorsum of male head with 4 black brown stripes; disc of pronotum brown, outer area with 1 pairs of black stripes, the subapical area indistinct; lateral lobes light brown. Apices of postfemora black; ventral spines of tibiae and whole tarsi light brown. Abdominal tergites and sterna brown.
Typical material. Holotype, ♂, Nanlushan, Menghai, Yunnan, 1 September, 2006, coll. Haoyu Liu.
Measurement (mm). Body: ♂ 8.2; pronotum: ♂ 3.7; tegmen: ♂ 1.8; postfemur: ♂ 7.9.
Distribution. China (Yunnan)
Discussion. The new species resembles P. punctata Wang, Liu & Li, 2012 and P. tribranchis Bian, Shi & Chang, 2012 , but differs from them in: basal area of male cerci with 1 digitiform lobe on interno-dorsal margin and 1 semicircular lobe on interno-ventral margin; basal area of subgenital plate comparatively wide, basal margin arch-shaped excavate, lateral margins of subapical area obviously becoming narrower, posterior margin somewhat truncate, the lateral lobe triangular; styli obviously longer than other species.
Etymology. The name of the new species is with reference to the elongate styli of the male subgenital plate.
