Tachytrechus species are hygrophilous and riparian, and mainly occur on open, welllit, wet, sandy soils or rocky substrates near or in open water. Larval and pupal stages have been discovered along temporal pools ( Dyte, 1959) and in freshet seeps and mud flats ( Corpus, 1988).
