Nemoura fusca View in CoL group

This group is designated herein for Nemoura fusca Kis , N. ovoidalis Kis , N. monticola Raušer and N. babiagorensis Sowa. The group differs from the other members of the genus by the stout, curved cerci bearing two straight apical teeth, forming a straight slat; the arms of the epiproct ventral sclerite forming an oval, thin ring that extends into small apical sclerites. The ventral sclerite and cercal characters place it closely with the N. peristeri group and the isolated, Greek N. caligula Zwick. However , these two groups differ in the head of the cerci and in the smaller apical sclerite.

The group has a Carpathian distribution. Nemoura fusca occurs all over the Carpathians, N. ovoidalis is known from the Eastern Carpathians and the Transsylvanian Mountains, and N. monticola and N. babiagorensis are known from the Northern Carpathians.
