Lectotype (Irwin & Barneby in Mem. New York Bot. Gard. 35: 402. 1982): [icon] " Cassia minor fruticosa hexaphylla senae foliis" in Sloane, Voy. Jamaica 2: 44, t. 180, f. 1, 2, 3, 4. 1725. - Typotype: Herb. Sloane 6: 28 ( BM-SL) .

Current name: Senna bicapsularis (L.) Roxb. View in CoL ( Fabaceae : Caesalpinioideae ).

Note: Fawcett & Rendle (Fl. Jamaica 4: 108. 1920) treated Sloane’s specimen as the type but this was never seen by Linnaeus and is not original material for the name.
