Grammomys aridulus Thomas and Hinton 1923 , Proc. Zool. Soc. Lond., 1923: 268.

Type Locality: Sudan, Darfur, Wadi Aribo, Kulme.

Vernacular Names: Arid Woodland Grammomys.

Distribution: WC Sudan ( Dieterlen and Nikolaus, 1985).

Conservation: IUCN – Lower Risk (lc).

Discussion: Usually either listed as a subspecies of G. macmillani (G. M. Allen, 1939; Ellerman, 1941; Setzer, 1956) or included in G. dolichurus ( Misonne, 1974) , but considered a distinct species by Hutterer and Dieterlen (1984).
