Genus Acanthodavacarus n. g.

Type species. Acanthodavacarus klompeni , n. sp.

Diagnosis. With the characteristics of the family and genital opening/ ovipore of female covered by four shields: mesogynial shield well developed, subtrapezoidal in shape; latigynial shields distinct and bearing two pairs of setae (st5–6); pregenital shield inversely subtriangular, ornamented with punctae and bearing a pair of setae (st4). Endogynial complex simple, Y-shaped, without punctate regions. Tritosternum with elongate collar and deeply divided laciniae.

Dorsal setae short, densely pilose. Two pairs of large opisthosomal glands present, each with a pair of guard setae and on short, horn-like processes. Male genital opening with a pair of setae.
