Valves lanceolate-clavate with rounded apices. Length 21–42 µm, breadth 5–7 µm. Axial area linear, expanded to form x-shaped to rectangular (to somewhat circular) central area. 4 isolated stigmoids positioned around the central area. Raphe is lateral, barely undulate. The external proximal raphe ends dilated. Costate striae strongly radiate near the center of the valve and towards the footpole, becoming parallel towards the headpole. Striae 11–13/ 10 µm. Apical pore field bilobed, comprised of distinct rows of porelli. Septa and pseudosepta small at both poles.
