Diagnosis. This new species is externally close to S. loxoscia ( Hampson, 1900) , but can be distinguished by the black stripe emanating from the forewing base; postmedial line sinuous, subterminal line thin, uncus sharper than loxoscia ; ventral arm of valva curved upwards, broader and straighter in loxoscia ; dorsal arm of valva slender near the base with obtuse angle at dorsal margin; harpe long, sclerotized, blunt at apex, harpe in loxoscia small and pointed at apex.
Description. Adult (Fig. 4). Wingspan 14–18mm. Head white; antenna yellowish brown, bipectinate in male, filiform in female; labial palpus brown, stretch forwardly. Thorax reddish brown, mixed white, and with a black ring at center; collar grayish white. Abdomen yellowish brown, mixed white. In forewing, basal line brownish red, presented at costal margin; antemedial line brownish red, excurved and arc-shaped to inner margin; medial line arc-shaped, upper part black, lower part reddish brown; postmedial line reddish brown with black, sinuous; subterminal line grayish black, excurved to M1, then waved to inner margin; terminal line dark brown with a row of black spot at inner side; cilia dark brown; the first two black stripes from base to postmedial line, the last one to subterminal line; inner area of postmedial line reddish brown; subterminal area grayish white; terminal area mostly grayish black. Hindwing grayish brown; cilia dark brown; discal spot small and smoky gray. Male genitalia (Fig. 5): Uncus small, 1/4 times as long as tegumen, pointed at apex; tegumen thin; valva divided at base, dorsal arm slightly longer than ventral arm; dorsal arm broaden distally, narrow at base, sclerotized at costal margin; ventral arm curved with parallel margin, somewhat pointed at top, sclerotized at ventral margin, one strong spine at apex; harpe robust, elongated, S-shaped and blunt at top; basal part of costa triangle; sacculus broaden at base, 1/3 times as long as the ventral arm of valva; saccus small and triangle-shaped; juxta rhombus-shaped, and with cleft at top. Aedeagus slightly curved; coecum short tubular, 1/4 times as long as aedeagus; vesica without cornuti. Female genitalia (Fig. 6): Papillae anales cone-shaped; apophyses posteriores thin and long, 1.5 times as long as apophyses anteriores; apophyses anteriores short and broad; ostium bursae arc-shaped and slightly sclerotized; ductus bursae sclerotized at base and narrower at middle, almost as long as corpus bursae; corpus bursae oval-shaped and membranous, with a longitudinal signa band, and two signum on the band; appendix corpus bursae smaller than corpus bursae.
