Adult ( Fig. 23 View FIGURES 20 − 27 ). Wingspan 11.0−14.0 mm. Head white, with scattered ochreous brown scales. Labial palpus with first palpomere black, second and third palpomeres white; second palpomere black in basal 1/4, outer surface black at middle, inner surface mixed with black scales in distal half, ventral surface with loose long scale tuft; third palpomere with black ring at 1/5, 2/5 and 3/5 respectively, black at apex, about same length as first and second palpomeres together. Antenna with scape grayish white, with scattered dark brown scales in distal half on dorsal surface; flagellum alternately dark brown and grayish white. Thorax and tegula white, with dense ochreous brown scales, tegula black at base. Forewing ground color white, with dense ochreous brown and black scales; costal margin with ochreous brown dot near base, with rhombic black spot before middle, with five short black streaks alternated with white in distal half extending obliquely outward; terminal band slightly wider along termen to tornus; ochreous brown dot below 1/6 of costal margin; short longitudinal black streak at anterior 1/3 near base; discal spot being short longitudinal black streak, ranging from before 2/3 to 4/5 of cell; discocellular spot large, ochreous brown, its upper margin edged with black scales and produced outward into a streak extending to before terminal band, forming a tadpole-shaped pattern; plical spot black, at about 2/3 of fold; dorsum with large irregular ochreous brown spot at base, with ochreous brown fascia from approximately 1/4 extending obliquely outward across fold to about anterior 1/4 below rhombic costal spot; tornal spot indistinct; cilia dark gray, with a row of short black scales at base, except white above and beneath apex. Hindwing and cilia from gray to dark gray. Fore- and midlegs with coxae and femora dark brown on ventral surface, grayish white on dorsal surface, fore tibiae black on outer surface, white on inner surface, mid tibiae white, black at middle and 3/4 on outer surface, fore and mid tarsi black ringed with white; hindlegs grayish white, except with tarsi black, hind tibiae with scattered brown scales on outer surface, and covered with dense long pale gray hairs dorsally, hind tarsi ringed with white distally.

Male genitalia ( Fig. 37 View FIGURES 34 − 41 ). Uncus gradually widened toward rounded apex, with dense long setae on ventral surface. Gnathos curved at middle, strongly sclerotized in distal half, pointed apically. Tegumen slightly convex at middle on anterior margin. Valva narrow and parallel in basal half, roundly expanded abruptly and covered with dense long hairs in distal half. Valvella about 1/4 length of valva, basal half trapezoidal, distal half digitate, curved outward, with setae. Juxta somewhat trapezoidal, with setose papillary process posterolaterally. Saccus nearly as long as valvella, blunt apically. Aedeagus slightly curved, dilated in basal half, slender in distal half, blunt apically.

Female genitalia ( Fig. 50 View FIGURES 48 − 52 ). Papillae anales with dense setae. Anterior apophyses about 1/3 length of posterior apophyses. Eighth segment gradually widened anteriorly; eighth tergite slightly convex and sclerotized on posterior margin; lateral band reaching anterior margin, its inner margin oblique inward on posterior half, curved in S shape on anterior half, produced to a small incurved process distally, outer margin nearly straight. Ostium bursae elliptical, posteriorly joined with anterior margin of weakly sclerotized quadrate plate, quadrate plate bearing two oblique carinae. Ductus bursae membraneous, about same length as corpus bursae. Ductus seminalis arising from posterior end of corpus bursae. Corpus bursae sub-elliptical, with three longitudinal zones of dense granules in posterior 3/5; signum absent.

Diagnosis. This species can be separated from its congeners by the forewing with a tadpole-shaped discocellular spot, the valva with distal half roundly expanded abruptly in the male genitalia, and the absence of a signum in the female genitalia.

Distribution. China (Chongqing, Guangdong, Hainan).

Etymology. The specific name is derived from the Latin prefix obliqu-, meaning oblique, referring to the oblique fascia of the forewing.
