Encolapta scriniata ( Meyrick, 1913) View in CoL
( Figs 26 View FIGURES 20 − 27 , 40 View FIGURES 34 − 41 )
Chelaria scriniata Meyrick, 1913: 163 View in CoL .
Homochelas scriniata (Meyrick) : Park, 1995: 77. Encolapta scriniata (Meyrick) View in CoL : Ponomarenko, 2004: 70.
Material examined. CHINA: Hainan Province: 1 Ƌ, Jiaxi Nature Reserves , 220 m, 16.vii.2009, leg. Zhaohui Du and Linlin Yang, genitalia slide no. YMQ13226.
Diagnosis. Adult ( Fig. 26 View FIGURES 20 − 27 ) with wingspan 15.0 mm. The male genitalia of E. scriniata resemble those of E. trapezoidea sp. nov. in the valva with distal half trapezoidal ( Fig. 40 View FIGURES 34 − 41 ), and detailed differences between them are stated under the latter species.
Distribution. China (Hainan, Taiwan), Sri Lanka, Vietnam.
Remarks. The 2nd palpomere of E. scriniata has a tight triangular scale tuft ventro-distally, which is similar to members of the epichthonia -group. However, we here place it in the tegulifera -group based on the distinct forewing patterns, the absence of R5 of the forewing and the tegumen with medially convex anterior margin.
