Spectroreta Warren, 1903 View in CoL
Spectroreta Warren, 1903 View in CoL , Novit. zool., 10: 255. Type species: Oreta hyalodisca Hampson, 1896 , by original designation. India: Khasis.
Diagnosis. The genus Spectroreta , containing only one species, is distinctive in the Oretinae in the wings having many transparent speckles, more on the forewing than on the hind wing. The forewing apex is very shortly falcate, the outer margins between M3 and CuA1 on both wings protrude, the postmedial line is straight and oblique outward from costa to M1, angled at this vein, then almost straight to hind margin, and continuing to the hind wing. In the male genitalia, the uncus is almost triangular, with a round tip; the socii are developed; the median process of the gnathos is slightly divided at the tip; the valva is short and broad, and bears two large processes, with the inner one slender, pointed and bent outwards, the outer one broader, shorter and blunt; the aedeagus is broad except for a narrow coecum penis, and bears two small medial processes. Sternite 8 is very narrow, and has two blunt lateral protrusions on the posterior margin. In the female genitalia, the ovipositor lobes are very broad and strongly sclerotized; the apophyses posteriores and anteriores are almost the same length; two signa are present.
Distribution. China, India, Myanmar, Himalayas, Sri Lanka, Malaysia, Indonesia.
