Genus Neopius Gahan, 1917
Neopius Gahan, 1917: 203 . Type species (by original designation): Neopius carinaticeps Gahan, 1917 (= Opius rudis Wesmael, 1835 ). Synonymized by Quicke et al. (1997) with Opius Wesmael, 1835 View in CoL and restored as valid genus by Li et al. (2013).
Diagnosis.
Occipital carina completely crenulate in dorsal and lateral view (Figs 32 View Figures 27–36 , 33 View Figures 27–36 ); frons distinctly granulate (Fig. 32 View Figures 27–36 ); mandible normal and symmetrically widened basally (Fig. 33 View Figures 27–36 ); hypoclypeal depression distinct (Fig. 31 View Figures 27–36 ); precoxal sulcus sculptured (Fig. 28 View Figures 27–36 ); pronotum sculptured; notauli sculptured at least half of mesoscutum (Fig. 29 View Figures 27–36 ); medio-posterior depression of mesoscutum present; mesoscutum and mesopleuron largely granulate; ovipositor sheath short.
Distribution.
Holarctic, including Japan (new record) and South Korea.
Biology.
Endoparasitoids of Agromyzidae larvae (including species Agromyza megalopsis Hering, 1933 and Agromyza nigripes Meigen, 1830 ).
