Type Locality: Japan, Honshu, Enoshima (Yenosima), at mouth of Bay of Yeddo.
Vernacular Names: True's Shrew Mole.
Synonyms: Dymecodon dewanus Kishida 1950 .
Distribution: Montane forests of Honshu, Shikoku, Kyushu ( Japan).
Conservation: IUCN – Lower Risk (lc) as Urotricus pilirostris .
Discussion: Often included in Urotrichus ; see under genus.
