Dysdera Latreille, 1804 View in CoL , type species Aranea erythrina Walckenaer, 1802: 224 (unspecified sex) by original designation, unspecified number of syntype specimens from France, surroundings of Paris (C. A. Walckenaer), repository unknown, supposedly lost.

Diagnosis. See Deeleman-Reinhold and Deeleman (1988). Species included. The genus presently includes 248 species ( Platnick 2009).
