Type Locality: Indonesia, Sumatra, Mt. Singalang, 2,000 m.
Vernacular Names: Sumatran Long-tailed Shrew.
Synonyms: Crocidura aequicauda Robinson and Kloss 1918 .
Distribution: Mountains of N and W Sumatra.
Conservation: IUCN – Endangered.
Discussion: A large species with a long tail. Revised by Ruedi (1995). Corbet and Hill (1992) also referred a specimen from Java which may represent paradoxura , or a different species (Ruedi, 1995).
