Comments: Known only from the holotype female of Xenoprosopa paradoxa Hesse. Hesse noticed that in life X. paradoxa rests on sand and that it resembles a therevid or an asilid, with its whitish hair, elongate shape and conspicuously yellow-ringed abdomen and legs.

Distribution: Monotypic. South Africa: Western Cape: Xenoprosopa paradoxa .
