Sosiomyia Bezzi, 1921 a: 67 . Type species: Sosiomyia comata Bezzi, 1921 (as ‘ carnata ’), by original designation.
Comments: Very similar to Adelidea , and always forming a terminal clade with it in phylogenetic analyses, but with the flagellum broadened and with strong hairs.
Distribution: Monotypic. South Africa: Northern Cape: Sosiomyia comata Bezzi.
