Distribution

S. romanus also has a wide distribution area, from Europe to China; with a known range that extends further north than the Mediterranean latitude, being found in some central European countries and Russia ( World Spider Catalog 2023). It has already been recorded from the District of Beja ( de Biurrun et al. 2019). In the Iberian Peninsula, it is a common species; it appears frequently in regular surveys of the epiedaphic strata ( Roberts 1987), although there is not usually a great abundance of individuals.
