reported from Passeriformes ( Passeridae , Alaudidae , Estrildidae , Prunellidae , Sturnidae and Thraupidae , some of them originating from birds in captivity) in Europe, Asia, New Zealand and Australia (for survey, see Mutafchiev et al., 2013). Acuaria buttnerae , described from Calandrella brachydactyla (Leisler) ( Passeriformes : Alaudidae ) in France, has been considered as a junior synonym of A. skrjabini by Mutafchiev et al. (2013).
