Frankliniella Karny View in CoL View at ENA
This is the third largest genus of Thysanoptera with 236 species worldwide (ThripsWiki 2023). These species are almost entirely from the Americas, except six species described from the Old World ( Nakahara 1997; Wang et al. 2019), and only F. schultzei has previously been recorded from Saudi Arabia ( Martin 1972). Many species of Frankliniella are polyphagous, breeding and feeding on flowers and leaves of a range of different plant species.
