Taeniothrips claratris Shumsher, 1946: 178 View in CoL
This species was described from India ( Shumsher 1946), and is widespread from Thailand ( Murai 2000) to Phillipines (Bhatti 1990). It is considered an economicaly important pest of Solanaceae View in CoL and Cucurbitaceae View in CoL and a vector of plant diseases. Individuals of C. claratris View in CoL can be distinguished from C. cameroni View in CoL by extensively shaded brown legs and brown antennal segment V, in contrast to yellow legs and antennal segment V ( Mound & Nickle 2009).
