Anascirtothrips Bhatti View in CoL View at ENA
This small genus belongs to Scirtothrips genus-group ( Masumoto & Okajima 2007). It comprises four species worldwide, with the species discussed below recorded from Arabian Peninsula in UAE (zur Strassen & van Harten 2008). The genus can be distinguished within Scirtothrips genus-group by combination of characters: head and pronotum wider than long, compound eyes without pigmented-facets; antennae 7-segmented, inner dorsal setae on segment II equal in length with outer setae in contrast to all other members of its genus group, III–IV with forked sense cone; tergites with S1 setae longer than distance between their bases; sternites with posteromarginal microtrichia, without discal setae.
