Caliothrips luckmanni Wilson, 1975: 86 View in CoL
This is a rare species, that was described from India, and is reported here from Saudi Arabia for the first time since its description. The species is remarkably similar to C. sudanensis by sharing most characters, but can be separated by the key above. The pore plates on sternites III–VII vary in length in the male listed below: length/width (10/100, 10/120, 10/115, 10/105, 10/95). In C. suda nensis the sternal pore plates on III–VII length/width are as follows: (5/60, 8/70, 8/70, 5/50, 4/45).
Material studied. AL Baha. Baljurashi , one female from Aristida sp. 22.ix.2020, ( BT); Thee ain Village, 19 females, one male from leaves of Achyranthes aspera . 25.ix.2020, ( BT) .
