Holarthrothrips josephi Bhatti, 1986: 2 View in CoL
This is a Saharo-Arabian species, described from Iraq, subsequently recorded from Iran, Israel, Oman, and UAE (zur Strassen & van Harten 2008). The adults of H. josephi View in CoL can be distinguished from the closely related species H. tenuicornis View in CoL and H. indicus View in CoL by the presence of well-developed comb of microtrichia at middle of tergite II–VII (in contrast to the absence of comb on tergite II–VII) ( Bhatti 1986).
Material studied. Riyadh. Al Majma, Hutat sudair, two females from Phoenix dactylifera , 28.iii.2019, ( BT), Aldryhim, Y. N. and Rasool, I .
