The genus Rhipidothrips , encompassing six species worldwide, is distributed in Europe (ThripsWiki 2023). None of the species was previously known from Arabian Peninsula. The genus can be recognized by: pronotum with one pair of elongate posteroangular setae; antennal segments VII–IX closely joined; sensorium lens shaped at apex of segment III and IV ventrally; metanotum with longitudinal striation medially.
