Aeolothrips mongolicus Pelikan View in CoL View at ENA
Aeolothrips mongolicus Pelikan, 1985: 128 View in CoL
This Palearctic species was described from Mongolia (Pelikan 1985), is recorded in China and Iran, ( Alavi & Minaei 2018), and is new to Saudi Arabia. This species is very close to A. sobrinus View in CoL sharing the same pale ring vein around apex of fore wings. However, it can be seperated by antennal segment III brown at apex, IV entirely brown and rather shorter length of sensorium not reaching to middle to segment IV; sternite VII with well-developed pair of additional setae. In contrast, in A. sobrinus View in CoL antennal segment III completely yellow, IV variably yellow at base with the sensorium rather long and extending beyond middle of the segment; sternite VII with conspicuous setae close to posterior margin.
