Scolothrips tenuipennis zur Strassen, 1965: 30
This is a rare species that was described from the Canary Islands based on a single male. Subsequently, it has been recorded from the Cape Verde Islands (zur Strassen 2003), Kenya ( Mound 2011b), Iran (Minaei & Abdollahi 2015), and now from Saudi Arabia. The species is unique among Scolothrips species for its uniformly pale fore wings.
Material studied. Al Baha. Thee Ain Village , two females, one male from Brachiaria sp. , three females from Poaceae , 25.ix.2020 ; Al Makhwa , one female, three males from Cenchrus sp. , two females from Cenchrus sp. , 26.ix.2020 . Riyadh, Dirab , one female from Poaceae , 02.vi.2020 .
