Type Locality: Indonesia, Prov. of Papua (= Irian Jaya), Fakfak Div., Lobo Dist., near Triton Bay, Mt. Lamantsjieri.

Vernacular Names: Ursine Tree-kangaroo.

Synonyms: Dendrolagus leucogenys Matschie 1916 .

Distribution: Volgelkop and Fakfak peninsulas, extreme NW New Guinea, sea level to 2500 m.

Conservation: CITES – Appendix II; IUCN – Data Deficient.

Discussion: Does not include inustus (see Kirsch and Calaby, 1977:17). Correct original citation presented by Husson (1955).
