3. Loxoblemmus taicoun Saussure

Loxoblemmus taicoun Saussure, 1877 . Mem. Soc. Geneve, 25, 256.

PLATE III. Loxoblemmus Saussure, 1877 . A–H, Loxoblemmus taicoun Saussure, 1877 ; A, Male; B, Face wide beneath eyes and feebly trilobate; C, Head convex above; D, Antennal process shorter than 1st joint (♂); E, Mirror lozenge-shaped, undivided, rounded posteriorly (♂); F, FW—harp region with 3 veins; G, Male genitalia

Similar to L. equestris but larger; frontal rostrum less convex but more strongly projecting; face strongly widening beneath the eyes and feebly trilobite; external angle of the first antennal joint forming a tooth as the second joint. The male of this species is well characterized by the shape of the frontal rostrum; the female has been briefly described by Saussure but is reportedly difficult to differentiate from the neighbouring species.

Material examined (5 ♂): India: Meghalaya: 2♂, Boirymbong, 9.vi.2013, Coll., R. Nagar; 1♂, Boirymbong, 9.vi.2013, Coll., R. Swaminathan; 1♂, RRTC (Ri-Bhoi), 3.vi.2013, Coll., R. Swaminathan; 1♂, Mawphlang, 8.vi.2013, Coll., R. Swaminathan.
