Cicindela (Sericina) Rivalier, 1961: 123 (type species: Cicindela chinensis DeGeer, 1774 View in CoL ) [synonymy by Nakane 1976: 3].

Remarks. This subgenus was originally established under the genus Cicindela by Nakane (1955). In this paper, our results based on the morphological features of male genitalia supported the monophyletic group as an independent genus. Therefore, we raised the taxonomic rank of the subgenus to the genus Sophiodela stat. nov.
