Description. Length (including wings): male 3.5–3.8mm; female 3.6–4mm.
Body sloped gradually. Vertex covered with orange and brown reticulation, four orange spots arranged in arc between eyes. Face black. Pronotum with an orange band on the anterior margin. Scutellum orange with thin transverse black in the middle, spots on the end of the transverse yellowish white ( Figs. 1 View FIGURE 1. A – D E–H). External characters as in generic description.
Male genitalia. Pygofer with short and long macrosetae near posterior margin. Subgenital plate triangularshaped, longer than length of pygofer distinctly, on ventral side with scattered macrosetae and short setae on the apical half ( Figs. 4A–B View FIGURE 4. A – H ). Connective similar to ‘T’ shape, similar in length to style ( Figs. 4C–E View FIGURE 4. A – H ). Aedeagus broad with two small teeth on each side at apex, gonopore on dorsal side ( Figs. 4F–G View FIGURE 4. A – H ).
Female 7th sternum with a lateral mild tooth on each side of a medial convex lobe. Second pair of valvulae with regular teeth on the end of dorsal side and apex, each tooth has several small teeth ( Fig.4H View FIGURE 4. A – H ).
Etymology. The specific epithet refers to the broad aedeagus.
Material examined. Holotype: ♂, CHINA, Yunnan Prov., Yuanmou, Yindi Mountain 28-XI-2005, Li Qiao; Paratypes: 1♂, CHINA, Yunnan Prov., Yuanmou, 24-VII-2005, Li Qiao; 1♂ 2♀, CHINA, Yunnan Prov., Yuanmou, 26-V-2005, Li Qiao; 1♂ 2♀, CHINA, Yunnan Prov., Yuanmou, 27-V-2005, Li Qiao; 1♀ CHINA, Yunnan Prov., Yuanmou, 27-XI-2005, Li Qiao.
Remarks. This species can be distinguished from other species of this genus by the body color and the broad aedeagus.
