Locality. Type—NSW L58–12. Others—NU L39, NSW L112–6, QGS L3004.
Emended diagnosis. Rounded genal angles; glabellar length equal to width, moderately convex. Pygidium broadly parabolic, convex axis; border convex; 13+ axial rings; 10–11 pleural ribs; ring furrows straight; lateral lobes on axis.
Remarks. The diagnosis is emended to remove the length of the glabella, as this is uncertain in the available specimens. Monodechenella subquadrata appears to be most similar to Monodechenella grandis (Etheridge Jr. 1892a) (see M. grandis remarks below for a detailed comparison).
