"Habitat in Lapponiae, Sueciae, Angliae sylvis glareosis." RCN: 8231.

Lectotype ( Jørgensen & al. in Bot. J. Linn. Soc. 115: 296, f. 19. 1994): Herb. Linn. No. 1273.217, young podetium ( LINN) .

Current name: Cladonia cornuta (L.) Hoffm. ( Cladoniaceae).

Note: The lectotype is a young specimen of the difficult Cladonia cornuta (L.) Hoffm. complex, and which could have displaced C. groenlandica (E. Dahl) Trass. Jørgensen & al. (in Taxon 43: 648. 1994) successfully proposed the name for rejection.
