Microvelia nelsoni Moreira, Barbosa & Ribeiro, 2012 View in CoL
Fig. 14 View FIGURE 14
Diagnosis. Body length 1.7–2.0 mm; general color black, with orange mark on pronotum and several areas of silvery pubescence; apterous pronotum completely covering mesonotum and metanotum; male terminalia not sinistrally rotated; venter of male abdominal segment VIII not centrally depressed; male proctiger without lateral projections; female abdominal laterotergites not reflected over mediotergites (Moreira 2012).
Comments. The specimens examined display variations ( Fig. 14 View FIGURE 14 ) that indicate a probable synonymy with M. argentata Nieser & Alkins-Koo, 1991 , M. aschnakiranae Makhan, 2014 and M. hambletoni Drake, 1952 . A thorough revision of these and other Neotropical species of Microvelia Westwood, 1834 is in progress.
