Type locality. Firth of Forth , Scotland ( Wright 1859) .
Material examined. Polyp—PB7_30, sampling site 1 (1), immature, 27°C, on the algae Gracilaria crispata Setchell & Gardner.
Description. Colony small (1 mm high), stolonal, monosiphonic, arising from creeping tubular stolons. Bilayered exoskeleton formed by perisarc and exosarc. Perisarc of moderate thickness (7.6 µm wide), continuous from hydrorriza to tentacle base, wrinkled at the base of hydrocaulus. Exosarc thick and rugose over hydranth, tentacle base, and hypostome, forming a pseudohydrotheca. Hydranth vasiform, merging below almost imperceptibly into pedicel, pedicels quite long. Hypostome conical, 10–12 tentacles in one whorl.

2013). In Mexican Pacific, it has been reported in Jalisco (Navidad Head and White Friars) ( Fraser 1938a; Fraser
1938c).
